The preceding and following articles were written for a college course in International Conflict Theory. Both were written by an intern some years after learning the principles of ATVC. Notice that in Part 2, the student sets forth learning expectations before taking the course. In strategy for real conflict resolution, it helps to know what you need and want but to be open to alternatives.
I want to gain real understanding of conflict theory because I think it's ridiculously interesting how human needs and ego are so interconnected to conflict. As I follow current events I'm curious as to why actions of the United States are deemed good ideas for other countries. Also how does America's relations with rest of world impact our involvement?
Lastly I hope to gain a little insight into how to analyze world conflict. As the years go by, I may forget some details, but hopefully having skill to critically evaluate conflict will remain with me. Above all, my general goal in life is to remain teachable and I extend that goal to this class.
