Community, National, and Global Alternatives to Violence

ATV Community, National, and Global Guide by Alternatives to Violence
From the earliest year, misinformation, disregarded history and stereotyping socialize us to reinforce existing violent cultural patterns. New educational and informational approaches can be used to draw together different sides of community issues. Alternatives to Violence case studies illustrate ways to reduce violence not only at the local community level but for situations reaching higher levels as well. This group of six sessions covers community, national, and global alternatives.

Each session includes these components:
  • Questions to focus our thinking;
  • Short article, chart or diagram explaining principles and strategies;
  • Actual case histories of nonviolent techniques;
  • Video interviews or testimonies of applications;
  • Suggestions for reflection.
